The Role

Job details:

·       Writing and sending a fun and creative weekly newsletter describing Quake’s activities and initiatives.

·       Managing Quake’s social media presences on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. This involves planning out posts with team members on a weekly basis and writing a detailed weekly report analyzing the results and effectiveness of your strategies.

·       Planning and executing integrated social media and email marketing strategies, with the guidance and collaboration of team members, for Quake’s University Investor Series, Entrepreneurship Leadership Seminar, Fall Accelerator, and any additional programs.

·       Planning and executing strategies, with the guidance and collaboration of team members, for obtaining more followers on Quake’s social media platforms, subscribers to our newsletter, and engagement on our blog and website.

·       Creating, editing and updating flyers and notices about Quake programs and activities as needed.

·       Reaching out to potential corporate sponsors, investors, seed and early stage companies and other opportunities through email and messaging on online platforms.

Start date: Tuesday, May 30th (flexible).

End date: TBD—high achieving associates are welcome to stay on part-time for the fall semester.

This is an unpaid opportunity.

The Skills

Required qualifications:

·       Current undergraduate Freshman or Sophomore

·       Ability to work at least 30 hours per week in Quake’s Battery Park offices (any additional tasks can be completed remotely if desired). Specific hours are flexible.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)

·       General knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn

·       Interest in and basic knowledge of the venture capital and entrepreneurship spaces

·       Creative, out-of-the-box thinking style and friendly, collaborative and social personality

Preferred, but not required, qualifications:

·       Past experience in entrepreneurship, either as a founder or working in a startup environment

·       Graphic design experience or knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator or other editing software

·       Knowledge of social media planning tools (i.e. Hootsuite) and/or email tools (Mailchimp, Mixmax)

·       Experience managing the social media presence for a company or organization

·       A robust personal social media presence (many followers, likes and shares on posts)
