Quake NYC's Demo Day: Looking Back, Moving Forward
May 2, 2018

Quake's Spring 2018 Demo Day in New York City happened last week, and it was incredibleFrom the hours spent making sure everything was set up and working properly, to actually watching the companies present their final pitches, Demo Day was not only extremely exciting, but also extremely gratifying. It was amazing to see the hard work our cohort has done for the past three months culminate into a single moment.

We accepted applications for our NYC Spring 2018 cohort last fall, and were very excited to welcome thirteen amazing companies into the dynamic environment of WeWork FiDi to work with us. To read more about this spring's cohort, see here. We leaned in on companies that have a great team, growing traction, and a product or service that is solving a real issue in today's world. We launched our Spring 2018 accelerator in February, and the rest was history. Since launch, each company has been working tirelessly on growing its business and perfecting its pitch. And with the help of Quake’s outstanding team of mentors, industry professionals, and investors, each company has made significant progress towards their goals.

Our Demo Day attracted over 500 attendees to the SubCulture event space in New York City, a quirky yet classy venue. Attendees were comprised of over 100 investors looking for great businesses to invest in and almost 200 entrepreneurs looking for connections and inspiration. Moving forward, our graduated class now wears the title of Quake alumni proudly. Several of our companies have started to raise additional rounds of capital since Demo Day.

Quake is very proud and honored to be able to provide a vital stepping stone for all these companies. We’ve helped them navigate through the crazy, hectic maze that is the startup world and now they’re fully ready to spread their wings and fly. Best of luck to our graduating class of Spring 2018! May your endeavors be nothing but success!
