Sight and touch are integral to the way humans interact, yet the most used device on the planet can only be interacted with using touch. Locus Insights is here to change the status-quo.
The simple act of getting people’s attention today is a huge challenge. Tech companies like Netflix spend millions every year trying to gather data and better understand their customers to optimize the individual user experience. Eye tracking is a valuable asset that companies can use to better understand what makes their customers give more attention to certain product packs, advertisements, billboards, and other forms of product marketing. Artificial Intelligence has allowed this software to become much better, thereby increasing its potential for adoption across a wide range of industries. AI is able to understand the subtle cues that demonstrate valuable insight: eye gaze, facial expressions, gesture, body language and tone of voice. This technology will allow companies to make better-informed decisions that could increase ROI on advertisements, conversion rates, and engagement strategy.
Meet Tom Jackson – Co-Founder & CEO of Locus Insights
Tom Jackson and Warren Huffman, Co-Founder and CTO, started the company after working together on an eye color changing app called CGEyes. This mobile application used iris location software that Warren had developed to change the user’s eye color in real-time. After spending many late nights and weekends developing CGEyes, the duo began to formulate a new application of this revolutionary technology. By the end of December 2016, Tom and Warren began wondering if they could use the heavily-developed iris location software in order to create a new software that would track where someone looks on their phone screen in real-time to help companies optimize their user experience and conversion rates on mobile devices. The two entrepreneurs tenaciously pursued their hunch and achieved proof of concept by January 13, 2017. Two weeks later, Tom and Warren quit their jobs and began the process of making Locus Insights a reality.
The next six months are an exciting time for Locus Insights. The company will be launching paid pilots in Q1’19, and they will be launching their full product by the middle of Q2’19. Locus is targeting to close another round of funding by Q1’19 and grow the team to fulfill the demand for the product. By the end of 2019, the company will have launched the product, expanded their team, and continued to scale the company.
