Though the holiday season may have come to an end, the Quake team is still celebrating our amazing office in Manhattan's Financial District. Situated less than 20 feet away from the famous Charging Bull statue, Quake's NYC location enjoys a gorgeous view of the sunset over Battery Park while comfortably nestled in the heart of FiDi. The neo-classicist building at 26 Broadway, built in 1885 and remodeled in 1928, was first constructed as the headquarters for J.D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company. Designated a New York City landmark in 1995, 26 Broadway now houses U.S. legal court offices, company headquarters andproduction rooms. The building is a minute’s walk from the New York Stock Exchange and it's easy to sense the “go-get-'em” atmosphere of the nation's largest financial center.
We're excited to be operating out of Primary, a co-working space founded by the first employees of WeWork, which provides individual offices and collaborative working areas to its members. Complete with nap rooms, a café (with free Stumptown coffee!) and a fitness studio, Primary's downtown location will be the main operational hub for Quake's accelerator cohorts, the first of which kicks off in just a week.
The people, however, are the greatest aspect of working at Primary, surpassing even the workout classes and healthy goodies. Primary’s community is friendly, welcoming and comfortable, while also offering a wealth of valuable professional connections. It's home to a wide variety of firms, including advertising companies, photographers and tech startups.Because the shared workspace encourages discussion and collaboration, the sense of community forged in-office is a valuable resource to startups seeking like-minded peers. Notably, Primary frequently organizes social events where members can wine, dine and socialize over stunning views of the harbor. Such an engaged community offers exceptional opportunities to network, receive professional advice and learn about innovation in different industries. Quake looks forward to welcoming its newest accelerator cohort to 26 Broadway, where founders will have all of the resources they need to sharpen their ideas and grow their businesses.
